As we move out of development, we’re all excited to finally be jumping into some pre-production!
It’s felt like a battle to hold back the calvary while we all patiently exercised some extreme self-control in diligently focusing on developing the script before we started talking about the “exciting stuff.” Everyone wants to make a movie – that’s where the adrenaline is – but thankfully, everyone involved understood the importance of getting it as close-to-perfect on paper before we started spending money. After all, it costs nothing to add an arena of 1,000 screaming fans on paper, but in real life, that one line of text could cost tens of thousands of dollars – then you have to feed all those hungry mouths! So we’re glad that everyone was on board with getting things right when it’s free to do so.
And now, as we finally approach a locked script, we all gathered to talk creatively about the locations, the cast and celebrities. The creative sparks were flying as we discussed everything from what makes a cemetery perfect for us to the Myers-Briggs personality classifications for all the major roles to what celebrity would give us the biggest bang for our buck. We laughed, we researched, we formed teams for our favorite celebrities, we chowed down on some unhealthy grub while Scott and Randall pulled out their specialty, health dishes and then we finally called it a day.
It was a long, but thoroughly productive meeting and we look forward to keeping you posted on our process as we move from script to screen!
